This house was built on the water on the East End of Long Island. A gambrel roof was joined with a gabled wing housing the master suite. This enabled it to be on the first floor and very private. Maximizing water views was a key element in the design of this house.

These photographs show a new residence built on the water in Watermill, Long Island. The lot was limited in size and the owner wanted to maximize the footprint and also include a pool, which could not be sited on the waterside. The house is constructed of brick with a slate roof.

The client had a strong love of the water which was taken into account during the design phase of this project. The nautical influence is evident in the loft area. Oak structural beams and random pine ceilings with plastered walls are distinctive features of this room as well.
